- Is a camera affected by the magnification effect underwater?
Due to refraction of light through water, and then through the air in the masks we wear, we are able to see underwater - but the refraction from the two mediums makes an object underwater typically magnified by 25-30% to the human eye... Will this magnification effect occur in a camera? That the light refracted through the lens then produces a larger image than normal? Or is it our eyes that are tricked by the magnification, and cameras take an image of the object at the correct size? Please help!
A I believe that it would be affected as camera lenses work by refraction :).

I'm heading to Mexico in a couple of months. I'm looking for a waterproof/underwater camera/camcorder. I really like the Playsport, but don't like that its only good to 10 feet. I snorkel deeper than that. I've looked at the GoPro's, Liquid Image Snorkel Masks and the Playsport. I'm looking to spend approx $200... And of course if it has an external display that would be even better (hence why I liked the Playsport).
