Fujifilm Underwater Camera

- How do I prepare my fujifilm camera for underwater?
i had a fujifilm xp 20 camera and i put it underwater for the first time in a 4ft deep pool and it leaked. I made sure the battery cover was closed but the water leaked in.

A Waterproof cameras scare me because I hear FAR too often about leaks, even when they are brand new. Apparently it is very easy to catch a tiny hair or some other object in one of the seals (e.g. the battery / memory card door), and that is enough to let water in. I don't think there is anything much you can do about it, because the hair etc can be so tiny that you have little chance of seeing it. I always suggest buying extra warranty protection and trying it out pretty much right away if you intend to go swimming with it.

- for my Green fujifilm underwater camera do I have to have the clear cover on?
