Compare Underwater Cameras

- I would like a technical person to help me compare these waterproof cameras for underwater use?

A I will go for the Panasonic TS3. It is the fastest camera of all you compared, has the best video quality, as well as sharp pictures. The Canon D10 is good underwater because of it's oversized buttons but the VGA video is laughable by today's standard (in was released in 2009) The Optio WG-1 feels light in your hand and the pictures are not as good as the Canon and Panasonic. The Olympus is relatively slower, and the Sony TX10 is great for urban use, but not snorkeling. The touchscreen behavior can be erratic at times. So, my choice would definitely be the TS3

- Do you think it's worth the $ to get an underwater digital camera? What about an underwater case?
I am looking to buy a digital camera, but the underwater one is another $150 (compared to the other cameras I was looking at). Do you think it's worth it? I also found this accessory, which I could buy later as an add on. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/oima_underwaterStylus.asp At the moment, I probably buy an underwater disposable camera about once a year. However, if I had one, I would probably use it more often. I'm not a diver or anything, but we do spend a bit of time in the pool and on the beach (two places I worry about my camera). What are your thoughts?

A The underwater case is the way to go. It is cheap and works good.
